Destinations

I'll be updating this page as I travel to show my journey around the world. Below you'll find a map showing my route, my general itinerary with dates spent in each location, and a running list of countries visited. Note that I use the Travelers' Century Club list of countries, which in my opinion is more accurate because it encompasses the geographical and political complexity of nation-states as it relates to travel whereas the "official" list of UN recognised countries does not. Can you really say you've been to Russia if you've only been to St. Petersburg and Moscow but have never stepped foot into Siberia? And how can you not count Tibet as a country when you need a separate permit to enter and many Tibetans want independence from China? Or what about Wales, England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland which all have distinct cultures and (mostly historic) languages but are all technically one country? I could go on, but you get the idea.

I've broken my adventures down into different sections (map colours distinguish them). Click on any of the headers below to see the dates for each destination!
